Zamfara partners NIPOST to improve IGR

The Zamfara state government has pledged to partner with Nigerian Postal Service Zamfara territory on the mobilisation of the state internally generated revenue for the development of the state.
This was made known by the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Abdullahi Shinkafi while delivering a speech on the occasion of the 2016 World Post Day/ Customers Forum organized by NIPOS Zamfara territory in Gusau yesterday.
According to him, Zamfara state government will create mechanism and enabling working environment and support to NIPOS in order to have more state revenue generation considering the current economic recession the country is facing.
He called on NIPOS in the state to continue given its unflinching support to the state government so as to attain the desired objectives.

In his remarks, the area Postal Manager Zamfara territory Malam Abubakar Ibrahim said the theme of this year world post day was has been read all over the world by the Director General Universal Postal Union as “serving a new society delivering beyond the door step with three main strategic pillars, innovations, integration and inclusion respectively.
He said next year his office will focus on younger ones whose minds are being polluted with the use of GSM to send short messages system (SMS) saying, the trend has increased the neglect of the culture of letter writing which the NIPOST want to be restored.
He said his office in collaboration with the state universal education board on the needs to imbibe the use of standards English language among students in primary, junior and senior secondary schools in the state through the use of posting letters among them.
