Yobe under Gov Buni has fared better, says Fune LG chair Bade

The executive chairman of Fune local government area of Yobe state, Alhaji Baba Goni Mustapha Bade, has said Yobe state under Governor Mai Mala Buni has fared well especially with the provision of democracy dividends.

Goni Bade was speaking recently in Abuja while interacting with some journalists.

He said, “Since the assumption of office of His Excellency Mai Mala Buni in 2019, a lot have been achieved through the mission and vision statement of the progressive leadership in the area of people-oriented projects such as empowerment programmes for the less privileged, orphanage centres, and youth employment that cuts across the local government areas.

“Others are accessibility to quality health facilities in both the urban and sub-urban areas with Fune in particular and other 17 area councils under the Renewal Hope agenda.

“It is also on record; there is the provision of quality education facilities at the primary and secondary school levels for the children in order to compete with others, the provision of quality and portable water supply through constant repairs and maintenance of boreholes in all districts and villages in Fune area council.”

According to him, securing the lives and property of the people has been a major priority of the administration with regular meeting with heads of security agencies in the council and stakeholders such as district and ward heads, religious and community leaders.

While advising the youths to shun violence, he said, “My advice to the youth is that they should respect the elders in their communities; as future leaders, they should say bye to hard drugs and take advantage of the empowerment programmes of the administration and take their studies seriously.

“To the council staff, accountability and dedication to work is key to elevation as no truancy would be allowed.”

On the extent of development in the North-east, he said, “We are grateful for the establishment of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) by former President Muhammad Buhari in which progress were recorded but like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more development projects to come to our area through the commission.”
