World Cup 2022: Qatar lists 7 conditions for fans

As the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Doha, Qatar, the Nigerian Embassy has warned fans against breaking the host country’s rules and regulations.

The Embassy gave the advice in a statement titled: ‘Nigerians Travelling For The Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Advised To Comply With Rules And Regulations Of The Host Country.’

It read in part, “The Embassy wishes to strongly advise that Nigerian fans travelling for the soccer fiesta should endeavour to obey and respect the laws of the host country while in Qatar ans ensure that they comply with all relevant guidelines/requirements for visiting fans before embarking on any trip.

“Moreso, the Embassy wishes to state unequivocally that the special World Cup visa called Hayya Card and Entry Permit cannot and will not be changed or transferred to work visa or permit.

“Nigerians should, therefore, not fall victim to unscrupulous elements spreading fake news in that regard to rip off innocent Nigerians.

“On final note, the Embassy of Federal Republic of Nigeria encourages all visiting fans to enjoy the best experience at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.”

Meanwhile, the host country has listed 7 conditions for the fans. These are the sayings of Prophet pasted at every corner of the tournament promoting the beauty of Islam; alcohol will not be sold at the eight stadiums in Qatar which FIFA has announced, two days before the commencement of the tournament.

Besides, in hotel rooms, there is a barcode that introduces the teachings of Islam, hadiths, and a simple definition of our faith; they changed muezzins of mosques and brought those with beautiful voices. Microphones are put in stadiums for Azan; Qatar Guest Center to prepare a team of 2,000 people to call for Islam, where it will allocate 10 mobile cars and 10 specialised tents; Islamic exhibitions by Ministry of Awqaf in different languages for visitors; and availability of prayer areas and places for ablution in stadiums for the first time in the history of World Cup…and many more.
