The Managing Director, City of David Estate Development in Abuja Mrs. Obby Okwubanego, has said that the time has come for vibrant youths to take over the mantle of leadership in the country.
This politician cum business woman said this during a recent courtesy call on her by the Young Democratic Party (YDP) during which she said, except for their wealth of experience and otherwise, the elders should not be treated with disrespect and disregard.

She said: “I am not saying that our fathers and our uncles were not doing well, but what I mean is that it is high time we injected young persons with energy, vibrancy, courage and modern ideas into the system for the country to be able to compete favorably with the community of nations”.
Okwubanego, however, commended the party leaders for the giant stride they have taken to come up with such political party through which they want to contribute their ideas to the leadership of the country promising to  support them in her own little way.
Earlier in a remark, the national chairman of the party, Barr Georgia Aye Dakpokpo, who led the delegation, said that the party needed support of politicians like her based on her humanitarian services and good gestures.

The national chairman said that they have proved to be different for the first time in Nigerian politics by giving the position of chairmanship to a woman.
She further added that their idea was not to neglect the elders, but was quick to add that they wanted to ensure that youths participate in the politics of the country and come up with innovative and bright ideas in order to move the country to the expected level.
She equally urged their host to join the party as a youth after handing her a copy of the party’s constitution.
