The Vice Chancellor of Crown University International Chartered Incorporated, Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu, has praised the institution’s partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

Aremu, the first African UNESCO Laureate, described the collaboration as a milestone in advancing global higher education and research.

He singled out the contributions of Professor Sir Mahammad Rafi, Crown University’s Director of Global Partnership and Collaboration, for his role in strengthening ties with UNITAR.

Founded in 2011 and registered in the United States, Crown University operates campuses in Argentina, Spain, and Brazil, alongside partner institutions in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

The university is accredited by several international bodies, including the International Quality Assurance Agencies for Higher Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, attracting a diverse student body from across the globe.

UNITAR, established in 1965, provides training in peacebuilding, sustainable development, human rights, and diplomacy. It works with governments and organisations worldwide to build institutional capacity.

According to Aremu, the partnership reflects a shared vision of using education and training to address global challenges and empower communities.
