UN Representative lauds Corps Marshal  Mohammed’s exceptional leadership qualities 

Representative of  Non governmental organizations (NGOs)  and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the United Nations Decade of Action and Injury Prevention on Road Safety, Prof. Yusuf John Suberu, has commended the Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, for his exceptional leadership as the head of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Prof. Yusuf John Suberu

He said under his guidance, the FRSC has achieved significant milestones, including winning the prestigious Kofi Annan Road Safety Award for Africa’s best road safety agency.

Highlighting the strategic  leadership qualities of the Corps Marshal Mohammed, he said he has effectively implemented policies and strategies to enhance road safety in Nigeria.

“He has promoted the use of technology to improve road safety, including the development of digital systems and renovation of the ICT center, ” he said.

He also lauded Corps Marshal Mohammed has fostering partnerships with local and international organizations to advance road safety initiatives.

He however,  harped on effective capacity building for personnel and improved community relations.

“Providing ongoing training and capacity-building programs for FRSC personnel.

“Enhanced community engageme by building stronger relationships with local communities to promote road safety awareness,” he said.

According to him, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed’s leadership has been instrumental in the FRSC’s success, earning him national and international recognition. His vision for a safer road environment is commendable.

He urge the federal government to increase budgetary allocation and release funding to the FRSC to facilitate their life-saving efforts.

He also called on organizations such as Dangote, Julius Berger, Glo Network, MTN, and others to support the FRSC in their mission to make Nigerian roads safer.

“By working together, we can reduce road crashes and create a safer environment for all Nigerians, ” he said.
