Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 15, AIG Abdu Umar, has assumed office as the AIG in charge of Zone 15 Command of the NPF.
He resumed Monday at the Maiduguri Zone 15 AIG office along old Jos Road, opposite former Kashim Ibrahim College of Education (COE), Maiduguri.
He assumed leadership of the Zone 15 AIG Command immediately after handing over the office of Borno state Commissioner of Police to his successor, CP Yusuf Lawan Mohammed who also took over the leadership of Borno state Police Command Monday from NPF headquarters, Abuja.
AIG Abdu assured the commitment of the Nigerian Police in combating crimes and addressing the security challenges confronting the nation in line with the vision and mission of the new Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and global Standard professionally where the environment will be adequately protected including the living and non living things.
“I would foster the existing collaboration and synergy among the security agencies in the state. I am posted to this command for the 7th time, I was here as area commander, DCP investigations, DCP Admin and Supply, DCP Operations, CP and was AIG.
“It is my pleasure and with gratitude to God for sparing my life to witness the occasion assuming of duty as AIG zone 15, I am not new in Borno and I am here to oversee the activities of Borno and Yobe state command and report to the IGP through the DIG, Operations.
“The police is always trained and committed to safeguard fundamental rights not only human rights but also animal plants as well as the environment,” AIG Umar said.
