Umahi tours banks, public kitchens to ensure COVID-19 compliance

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state Thursday embarked on monitoring of banks and public kitchens to ensure strict compliance to government directives on protective measures against COVID-19.

Umahi, who went on the tour alongside his executive members and some health personnel, said he was checking for cholera, Lassa fever and COVID-19.

He advised the Ebonyians to be their brothers’ keeper, and to also intimate government whenever they noticed cases of Lassa fever or COVID-19 around them.

He said, “We are checking for cholera, Lassa fever, COVID-19. You have to be your neighbors’ keepers by giving us information. This will help us to protect Ebonyi state. From Saturday, no one will be allowed to come in or go out.

“Only vehicles carrying food stuffs, construction materials and medical supplies will be allowed to come in. Patients going for treatment will also be allowed. Try to use hot water, stay out of air conditioner. Try garlic, lemon, it is very important. Stay safe, you are very important to us.”
