As a show of his administration enthusiasm for sports in the area council, the chairman of Kuje area council, Hon. Ishaku Shaban Tete, has commended the performances of his council various football teams that participated in the recent Kuje super league competition organised by Kuje local football council.
Tete encouraged the players not to neglect their academic work as “it plays an important role” in their future.
He further encouraged the losers to accept defeat and do better in the next competition.
At the end of the competition, Tsofofi United Football Club lifted the trophy with the total of 10 points from five matches, while Lion Star Football Club of Kuje came second with seven points.
Our correspondent reports that five teams participated in the completion.
Speaking after the game, Tsofofi coach, Mr. Hamidu Sarki, commended his team for the brilliant performances.
Lion Football Club’s coach, Ibrahim Dauda, whose team came second, said his team played good football, but that luck was not on their side, adding that his team would win in the next competition.
He congratulated Tsofofi for lifting of the trophy.
