Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has officially signed with Scottish champions Celtic as a free agent. The 28-year-old was a target for three clubs before finalizing the move.
Iheanacho parted ways with Sevilla by mutual consent on transfer deadline day and has now agreed to a one-year contract with Celtic.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers, who previously worked with Iheanacho at Leicester City, expressed confidence in his impact, saying the forward “will make a big contribution” to the team.
The Nigerian international comes in as a replacement for Adam Idah, who recently completed a move to Swansea City for an undisclosed fee.
Iheanacho spent last summer at Sevilla before finishing the season on loan at English Championship side Middlesbrough.
