2026 World Cup qualifier: Rohr plots South Africa fall

Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has said he will make some changes to his starting XI for tomorrow’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against visiting South Africa.

“We’re still going to bring a bit of freshness, there will be some changes in the team,” said Rohr, who is known not to change his starting team.

The Cheetahs of Benin have been boosted with return to training of defender Rachid Moumini and goal scorer against Zimbabwe Dodo Dokou.

“The players who were injured in Durban are doing well. They completed the entire training session, which lasted an hour and a half,” Rohr disclosed.

Benin are second in Group C with eight points, two points behind leaders South Africa.

A home win for Benin will be a massive favour for fourth-placed Super Eagles, who will be expected ro beat Zimbabwe in Uyo tomorrow.
