The remains of the emir of Rano, Alhaji Tafida Abubakar Ila, was last Saturday night committed to mother earth, following his death at the Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital in Kano after a brief illness.

The late monarch was on admission at the Hospital last Thursday for an undisclosed ailment and reported to have died two days after being admitted

Aged 74, Ila was buried along side his fore fathers at the cemetery located inside the famous  Rano palace, which is highly revered as one of the ancient palaces in history, known for its reverence, as every Rano emir is being addressed as Autan Bawo meaning the last son son of the famous legend, Bayajjidda, the founder of the Hausas clan.

The burial which had in attendance the  deputy governor of Kano State, Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna was also attended by some prominent traditional rulers within the Kano emirates and notable eminent personalities, who in their tributes described the late monarch as unique and a quintessential   personality worth his salt.

Paying his tribute shortly after the burial rites, Dr Nasir Yusuf Gawuna said Kano in particular and the nation at large, have lost a personality of substance whose blue-blooded disposition and credible  persona had brought reputation and enviable fame to the  monarchy.

According to him,  the degree of commendation and high praises being showered on him  by personalities  from all walks of life, has demonstrated the fact that he had lived a life worth living on earth, considering the stunning pace with which he contributed his widow’s mite to the development of his domain.

Speaking in the same vein, an indigene of the area, Malam Alto Ardo  said they were mourning the demise of the man whose heart was full of good tidings for the people of Rano emirate Council, as epitomized by his appointment as first class emir   by governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje adding that his death has left an unfathomable vacuum that would be very difficult to fill.
