Sule signs Nasarawa’s  N149.3bn 2023 budget into law 

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa has signed the state’s N149, 315, 944, 207.62 2023 appropriation bill into law.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Thursday, in Lafia, Governor Sule lauded the House of Assembly members for the speedy passage of the budget despite their busy schedules.

Sule also commended the synergy and partnership of the lawmakers with the state government towards achieving the collective responsibility to provide leadership.

“Let me especially appreciate my dear brother the Honorable Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, other principal officers, indeed all the honorable members of the state Assembly, for this consideration and speedy passage of the 2023 fiscal appropriation bill into law.

“This show of partnership will no double enhance our collective responsibility in the provision of the purposeful leadership to accelerating the peace and development of our dear state.

He said assumption was on the budget size of N148, 958,122,525.5k.which was later increased to the sum of N149, 315, 944, 207.62k.

“The difference therefore, between our budget  of 2022 and 2023 stands at  Thirty three billion five hundred and ninety three million one hundred and twenty thousand six hundred and sixty four Naira thirty one kobo,:” he said.

The governor, however, said the signing into law of the 2023 budget would afford him the opportunity to begin the constitution and twelve months budget circle implementation commencing on the 1st of January to 31st of December 2023.

Sule assured the people of the state that he would remained committed to the full implementation of the budget without being carried away by the electioneering activities.

Speaker of the Nasarawa of the Assembly, Abdullahi, appreciated the MDAs for making their job easier for the passage of the budget into law.
