Sule presents N148.9bn 2023 budget to Nasarawa assembly 

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has presented the sum of N148, 958,122,525.05) to the state House of Assembly as the budget for year 2023.

Presenting the budget, Tuesday, Governor Sule said the sum of N90, 619,580,459.56 was for recurrent expenditure, representing 60.84 percent of the total budget.

He said the sum of N58, 338,542,065.49 was for the capital expenditure, representing 39.16 percent of the total budget.

“The Rt. Hon. speaker, Hon. members, I am delighted to lay before you a total budget size of One Hundred and Forty-eight billion, Nine Hundred and Fifty-eight million, One Hundred and Twenty-two Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty-five Naira, Five Kobo (N148,958,122,525.05) only for the 2023 fiscal year,” he said.

He highlighted that the education sector got the highest allocation with 37.87bn while health sector got 18.61bn, with agriculture and water resources taking N11.26 bn.

In his response, the Speaker of Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, expressed satisfaction with the budget, and assured Governor Sule of speedy passage. 

The speaker also assured the governor of good working relationship in order to bring the much needed dividends of democracy to the door steps of the people of the state.
