Stock market rebounds, gains N192bn

Trading activities on the floor of Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Tuesday rebounded, gaining N192 billion. Market capitalisation of listed equities increased by  0.67 per cent to N28.704 trillion from N28.512 trillion reported on Monday.

The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by 352.49 basis points to 52701.31 points from 52348.82 traded the previous day.

An analysis of the investment showed that UPDC REIT led gainers table during the day in percentage terms, gaining 10 percent to N3.30, MRS followed with a gain of 9.93 per cent to N15.50, Chellaram Plc gained 9.92 per cent to N1.33 to per share. SUNU Assurance added 8.82 per cent to close at  N0.37 per unit, Mcnichols increased by 7.02 per cent to close at  N0.61 per share.

On the contrary,

UPDC topped losers chart during the day in a percentage terms, declining by 6.93 per cent to  close at N0.94 per unit, Geregu Power trailed with a loss of 6.71per cent to close at N139.00, Linkage Assurance fell by 6.38 per cent to close at N0.44, Royal Exchange down by 5.26 per cent to N0.90 per unit while PZ Cusson dipped by 5.21 per cent to N10 to per share.

Total trades for the day was 228.487 million shares valued at  N4.443 billion in 3681 deals against 221.854 million shares cost N3.249 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 5219 deals.
