Chief convener of the group, Hon. Fredrick Agbedi at a meeting of the group, Monday in Abuja reiterated the fact that none of the aspirants in race for speakership of the House has been adopted by the caucus, which has membership across seven of the minority political parties.
The lawmaker also disclosed that a retreat for members of the group is being planned, during which consultations will be made with a view to arriving at who to support in the speakership race.
According to him, members are expected to engage widely with stakeholders in their respective constituencies, party leaders in their states and their governors in order to arrive at the best decision, adding that the group will not relent until its desire is achieved on the day of inauguration.
“In all, our leaders have authoritatively told us to that no one has been given the mandate to identify with Mr A, or Mr B. We are only to continue interacting, as at the appropriate time, alliance will be formed and we will arrive at a decision.
“We have to prove to our constituencies that we are a strong minority group”, he said as he charged the state coordinators to make regular reports of their engagements available to the group leaders.
