Pursue, achieve peace, IAWPA spokesperson tells Peace Ambassadors

The lnternational Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), in collaboration with l – contact connect Limited, has stated the need for all hands to be on the deck in order to achieve global peace.

IAWPA spokesperson, Ambassador Emmanuel Nkweke, made the call during the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day and induction of new eminent Peace Ambassadors in Port Harcourt.

Ambassador Nkweke stated that the duty of the new inductees is to pursue peace in Nigeria and beyond, adding that ambassadorial positions are not given to people with questionable characters but people of influence who would be ready to move round the world and make impact.

He added that it is the second time that the day is celebrated in Nigeria, pointing out that lAWPA, which started in 2012, is now in 120 countries of the world.

The IAWPA spokesperson said United Nations is doing many things including promoting women, especially in the universities.

The lnternational Director of lAWPA, Ambassador Chidi Ehiriodo in his speech reiterated the need to mobilise support for women who have taken central roles in innovation and entrepreneurs.

Ehiriodo, a professor, said the theme of this year’s celebration, ” lntellectual & Safety and Health First at Work”, centred on women who are leading in different areas of innovative endeavours.

His said: “Women are not challenging men but they are leading. They have high capacity and are devoted, meticulous and careful in what they do. Call on women not to relent but come up with whatever is inside of them,” Professor Ehiriodo stated.
