The Governing Council of the University of Benin has announced the appointment of Professor Edoba Omoregie, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), as the 11th vice- chancellor of the institution.
The Chairman of the university’s Governing Council, Prof. Shaibu Umaru, disclosed this on Friday in Benin City.
Umaru stated that 27 applicants applied for the position.
He added that the new VC would take over from the incumbent, Prof. Lillian Salami whose tenure ends on December 1.
According to his curriculum vitae, Prof. Edoba Omoregie was born on April 5, 1969 and
was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992 and conferred with the coveted Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2021.
