Nasarawa state police command has confirmed the kidnap of the Nasarawa state All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Mr. Philip Tatari Shekwo, in his Bukan Sidi residence in Lafia.
State commissioner of police Mr. Bola Longe confirmed this to newsmen in Lafia.
He said the unidentified gunmen Saturday night in large number stormed the residence of the APC chairman in Lafia around 11:00pm and took him away to an unknown place.
The commissioner said security men had been deployed to different forest locations to ensure safe his release.
“We have done all the necessary things to ensure that he is rescued,” he assured.
