Police arraign 2 for criminal trespass, theft

The police on Wednesday arraigned two unemployed men at a Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja for trespass, theft and attempt to cause bodily harm.
The accused persons are Sunday David, 25 and Emmanuel Benjamin, 23, both of Durumi 2, Abuja.
The prosecutor, ASP Ambi Gambo, told the court that the accused persons, on May 30, allegedly trespassed on their co-tenant, Uche Ekoh’s apartment.
Gambo said the accused persons allegedly stole a machine, spinner wheel barrow and other valuables all valued at N50, 000 from the apartment.
He further said the accused persons allegedly attacked Ekoh with a knife with the intent to cause him grievous bodily harm.
He said that the offence contravened the Penal Code.
The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate, Malam Umar Kagarko, granted them bail for N100, 000 with one surety each.
The magistrate adjourned the case until June 16, for hearing. (NAN)
