Pictures: Plan International hands over ICT labs, latrines, others to Arikime GDJSS in Yobe

As part of effort to supports young adolescent girls in formal and non-formal education in yobe, Plan International, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Friday commissioned and handed over ICT laboratories, temporary learning centers and latrines in Arikime Government Day Junior Secondary School in Potiskum.

The project is part of efforts to support the young girls to be trained and equipped with basic ICT skills to enable them access recorded lessons on their computer.

Speaking at the occasion, the field Manager Yobe state Plan International, Avandigh Alagh Titus, thanked all the dignitaries present at the occasion and principals toward the success of the intervention.

Titus said, for them in plan International this is just the beginning.
“As we look forward to give better opportunity to touch the lives of our young daughters and young women, we pray that every contributions we have made would receive an abundant rewards,” he said.

On her part, the programme Manager Humanitarian, UN Women, Lilian Ngussur Unaegbu, congregated the plan International for the great work they have done.

Unaegbu thanked the government and people of Japan for their continue support.
He said “Government of Japan also believe in infrastructures, as they constructed massive women empowerment hall in Damaturu that is going to train at least 1000 women in Gashua, Yobe state.

“This is just the beginning, we want to come back and see women transact business and able to do things for themselves, likewise Young girls are able to speak English fluently.”

In his vote of thanks, the representative of the state government and permanent member one State Universal Basic Education Board, Jaafar Muhammad Nejo, thanked the organisations for the gesture, calling on the secondary school maintain and secure them.
