A faithful of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Adamawa state, Mr Hussaini Gambo (Nakura), has accused Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of selective distribution of the federal government’s palliative sent for the people of the state.
Gambo, chairman of the Adamawa Concerned Citizens Association, alleged at the weekend in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, that Governor Fintiri rebranded the foodstuff palliatives with his photo inscription and assigned local government councilors to share, in violation of the principle of equity and inclusion.
According to him, the APC House of Assembly members as major stakeholders in their respective constituencies are not part of the committee, adding that the action of the governor will prevent many from benefiting from the federal government’s gesture.
He worried that the deliberate sidelining of APC lawmakers is a clear indication that the palliatives will only be shared among members of the state’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Gambo reminded the governor that his administration is not only for PDP members, saying thousands of APC members voted for his second term during the last governorship election.
He called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the Adamawa palliatives provided by the federal government because Governor Fintiri is out to sideline APC members.
Gambo also accused the governor of vendetta, noting that he only wants a particular class of people to enrich themselves with the palliatives meant for everyone.
“Sir, intervene on the palliatives you gave for everyone in Adamawa, else APC loyalists will never get anything as Governor Fintiri is clearly showing his colour to give only his political pundits.
“There is no APC stakeholder in all the committees in charge of the distribution, even our elective office holders like the state lawmakers are excluded from the committee.
“How can there be equity? The so-called councillors in charge of the distribution at ward levels are all PDP members, none is from APC or any other political party. Something urgent has to be done,” he said.
