Osun workers issue 21 day strike notice

Labour unions in Osun state have issued a 21 day notice of strike action to Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
He is to either accede to their demands or risk industrial action in the state.
The labour under the aegis of Osun State Joint Public Service Negotiating Councils 1,11 & 111, asked the governor to begin immediate full payment of their July 2018 and subsequent salaries and pensions.
The letter addressed to Governor Aregbesola was signed by the Chairmen and Secretaries of NLC, TUC, JUSUN, NASU, NUT, NULGE, NANNM, RATAWU among others.
They also want immediate payment of backlog of arrears of salaries and pensions from September 2015 till date.
According to the union, the 21 day notice starts from Tuesday August 7.
They said “payment of 2016 leave bonus should be paid to all categories of workers immediately.
“Payment of gratuity to all categories of workers and those who retired under the Contributory Pension Scheme be effected immediately.
“Remittance of backlogs of Contributory Pension of workers to the Pension Fund Administrators, PFAs, be effected immediately,” it stated
