The Ogun state government will temporary close down foremost tourist center, Olumo Rock Tourist Complex from Monday April 14, 2025 for renovation works.
This is according to a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, which stated that the closure wss part of effort to boost tourism and preserve cultural assets across the state.
Fagbayi added that the facelift was necessitated to improve visitor’s experience and to ensure safety measures during the renovation.
He explained that, Olumo Rock receives over 70,000 visitors annually which needs a befitting outlook, hence the reason for the renovation
“As part of efforts to boost tourism and preserve cultural assets across the State, the Ogun State Government will begin the renovation and facelift of the Olumo Rock Tourist Complex which will lead to temporary closure of the site from Monday, April 14, 2025.
“This development was part of a broader commitment to revamp one of our most iconic tourist destinations, improve visitor’s experience and to ensure safety measures during the renovation.
” The State Government apologises to all tourists and the general public for any inconveniences the development may cause, adding that further updates would be communicated as work progresses”, he said
