Ogun: 3 dead, 9 injured in fatal crash 

 

A total of three persons have been reportedly dead, while nine persons sustained different degree of injuries in a fatal crash after Fidiwo bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The Superintendent Route Commander, Florence Okpe FRSC Public Education Officer for Sector Commander in a statement said a total of 14 persons were involved in the accident.

The accident which involved two vehicles with registration number registration numbers LSR377BL a Nissan car and a Toyota Sienna ABJ24XV was said to have been caused by excessive speed which led to a tyre burst and loss of control on the part of the Nissan driver.

She added that the two unhurt victims were recorded, while the injured victims have been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical attention and the corpses were deposited at the state Hospital mortuary, Isara.

“The Sector Commander FRSC Ogun Sector Command CC Ahmed Umar Commiserated with the family of the victims and advised motorists to always do a vehicle parade by checking the tyres, engine, light and other necessary things in the vehicle before embark on any trip.

“He reiterated on speed violation among motorists and advised to obey traffic rules and regulations”, the statement added.
