Former coach and football administrator Oche Mathew Peters has called on Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, the Nigeria Football Federation, ex- internationals, and all well meaning Nigerians to rally round and help save the life of Barnabas Imenger who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Center, Makurdi for an undisclosed ailment.

A visibly worried Oche told Blueprint Sport last night that “there is no doubt that Imenger is terribly sick. There is urgent need for him to receive proper medical attention. I think if there is any need to fly him out of the country, why not ?
“Imenger played for Nigeria .He deserved the best treatment we can offer him, most stakeholders and ex-internationals are not even aware of the nature of the ailment” he lamented.
Oche who is the managing director/CEO at Sisa International Sporting Limited opines that “we have harvest so many death in the sporting circle lately we should be proactive and not allow Imenger to be a thing of history. We have so many kind hearted Nigerians who can bankroll his treatment even if it’s outside the country or any reputable hospital” he said.

It will be recalls that Barnabas Imenger who is the Team Manager of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Lobi Stars has been in and out of hospitals since last year before he was finally moved to Federal Medical Center in Makurdi and looking terribly emaciated.
All efforts to speak with him has been unsuccessful but his Junior brother George Imenger confirmed that a team of medical doctors have swung into action by carrying out an extensive test to diagnose the actual cause of the ailment.

Barnabas Imenger’s son, Nanen also laced his boot for the country at the 2014 CHAN championship in South Africa while the father was capped by late coach Stephen Keshi against Angola in 2012 and went on to represent the country at the King Fahd Cup (now FIFA Confederation Cup) in 1995 and the USA 95 Gold Cup
