NPFL: What Lobi Stars need is just good result – Iorfa

Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lobi Stars Football Club, Dominic Iorfa Thursday said it is no big deal playing home matches in Jos instead of Makurdi the traditional home ground of the Shoe gets size club.



Iorfa also said what he needed was result and so far he is not disappointed with the team he has so far.



Iorfa stated this while briefing journalists at the main bowl of Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, on the activities of the club.



He said in football all over the world, what is required is result and he is happy that he is getting the result from his boys, though he is playing his home matches away from home. 



He said, when he took over leadership of Lobi Stars FC, he had a clear policy document to serve the club and his is still focus on it. Iorfa noted that as a player and football administrator he has passion for the game and will always work towards achieving it.


According to him, he embarked on a local government tour which gave him the privilege to get some talented players from the grassroot, which is part of the success they are recording today. 

Benue has abundant talents that can compete favourably anywhere in the country and the world. 

While thanking Governor Samuel Ortom and his Deputy, Engr. Benson Abounu for their sincere support which has led the club to be now top  in the NPFL group B of the abridged league.

Mr. Iorfa reiterated the need for sustained prayers for the club and assured supporters of better days under his care driven by passion and love as he will always sacrifice everything for the betterment of Lobi Stars.

Explaining why home matches of Lobi Stars are being played in Jos, Plateau State he said the turf at the Aper Aku stadium compelled the Interim Management Committee, IMC, which manages the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL to place ban on it.

He said the turf was put in place since 2007 and most portion of it has gone bad.  

He further stated that, in the whole of the 19 Northern States, only a few stadiums were approved for NPFL matches namely; Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, Pantami Stadium, Gombe, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, El Kanemi Stadium, Borno, and the new Jos Stadium in Plateau State which left him with no option than to choose Jos, which is more closer to the state.
