NPFL: Enugu Rangers dim Lobi Stars

Relegation-bound Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, Saturday,  suffered heavy defeat in the hands of the defending champions, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu in one of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches.

It was a game played inside Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, mostly known as Cathedral, Enugu and Rangers defeated their supposed host 4-2.

The win has brought Rangers to 49 points, 5th position on the league table.

Rangers who have suffering defeat on their home ground, redeemed their image by giving their fans cause to jubilate this Easter.

Commenting on the outcome of the game, Lobi coach, Anthony Bulus, said they came prepared to win but saw a different thing.

He attributed poor officiating to their humiliating defeat in Enugu.

But Rangers Chief Coach Eke Ekenedilichukwu, expressed happiness at their victory, saying that they had disappointed fans in recent times by losing their home matches.

“I feel very exited that we won. It was a sad one when we lost to Heartland here in Enugu,” he said, noting that injuries have made many of their key players not to play, thereby resulting in poor showing in their previous matches.
