NPFL: Doma thrash Gombe United in Savannah, Osho’s Akwa United stumble again

Doma United on Sunday whipped neighbours Gombe United 3-0 in a local Savannah derby on matchday seven of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) inside Pantami stadium.

A crucial encounter watched by over 10, 000 fans saw Doma goalkeeper providing double assist for the privately-owned club.

In Eket township stadium, Akwa United handled by Fatai Osho fumbled again after they were held to a goalless draw by visiting Plateau United same day.

Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers reclaimed top spot in the NPFL after defeating Heartland 2-0 in the oriental derby at the Awka City Stadium.

With the latest performance, Rangers top the league standings with 13 points from seven goals.

Shooting Stars recorded the biggest win by thrashing Niger Niger Tornadoes 4-1 in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

Holders Enyimba narrowly beat Kwara United 1-0 with Chijioke Mbaoma netting the winning goal from the spot late in the first half.

In Portharcourt, Rivers United were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunshine Stars.

However, Bendel Insurance and Abia Warriors won at home to Remo stars and Katsina United.
