The Head Coach, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Keepers’ trainer, Kola Ige, has empathised with his assistant coach, John Dosu, over the unfortunate incident that happened between him and Majin Muhammed at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan shortly before match Day 30 of Nigeria Premier Football League.
It would be recalled that the Technical Adviser of the visiting side, Majin Muhammed punched the Assistant trainer of the Oluyole Warriors, John Dosu when he was trying to tell Ikon Allah Boys not to encroach the half of the Ibadan Soccer Lords at the warm up training.
This advice did not go down well with Coach Majin and out of displeasure, he openly punched the goalkeeper from the chest and it took the intervention of 3SC technical crew to rescue the lanky trainer from going to the world beyond
Kola Ige, while addressing journalists in Ibadan, expressed displeasure over the unfortunate incident that nearly take the life of his Assistant and called on the league board to get into the root of the incident with a view to putting an end to such ugly occurence.
“I wish to express my displeasure over the unfortunate incident that happened to my assistant Coach, John Dosu on Sunday wherein he was punched by Niger Tornadoes Coach, Majin Muhammed shortly before the match day 30 of Nigeria Premier Football League in Ibadan. We thank God he’s back on his feet now and big thanks to everyone that came to rescue him. We all felt very bad to witness such ugly scene from the opposing team but we appreciate our fans for their concern . I think it’s important the league organizers get into the root of this situation and ensure such thing does not repeat itself so as not to demarket this league”. Said former U20 Goalkeeper.
“Our fans should be rest assured of our determination to secure a continental ticket at the end of this season, we are not going back on this promise,” he said.
