No going back on knockouts ban in FCT- Police




The police have said rhat the ban on knockouts in the Federal Capital Territory is still in force.

The  Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of APO under Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), CSP John Emaga assured the residents that anything that would bring about security threat will be allowed.

He  called on the parents and  guardians  to preach against the use of fireworks and knockouts in their areas, which the people claimed that is celebration.

  
Emega described the act as public disturbances and nuisance that should be avoided at this period of security challenges.

He noted that there was the need for parents to see the prevailing situation in the country and take measures to prevent their wards from  engaging in acts capable of causing panic and confusion in the society.

According to him,  criminals may take the advantage of the situation to perpetrate crime.

The DPO reminded residents of Apo and environs that ban on the display of dangerous fireworks and knockouts is still enforce in the Federal Capital territory (FCT) just as he implored them to be contributing their quota on the fight against criminality.

He assured residents of  the area that they would continue to enjoy adequate security as they go about their business activities.
