NIPOST critical to our economy – Pantami

Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) has described the postal sector as critical to nations economy world wide.
The minister who was represented by permanent secretary Ministry of Communications & Digital Economy Engr Festus Daudu advocate a robust strategy for NIPOST to play major role in the socio-economy of the world.


This he declared at the opening of a one week long NIPOST Board/Management strategic retreat at Ilaje Hotels & Sports Resort, Akaran, Ibadan, Oyo state.
He noted that e-commerce and e-services are the core business enterprises that are changing the face of postal industry.


NIPOST, from this strategic retreat is expected to stir towards a four/five years (2021-2025) strategic direction that will propel the organization to full commercialization, which will enable it surpass other revenue generating agencies.
He however noted that strategic advocacy to succeed in an organization must be built on its human resources capacity to harness its productivity.
Chairman NIPOST Governing Board Barrister Maimuna Yaya Abubakar said the retreat is aimed at repositioning NIPOST for better service delivery and adaptation to digital economy.


According to the postmaster general Nigerian Postal Service Dr Ismail Abebayo Adewusi stated that the success of NIPOST vision plan depend largely on its quality of service.
