Nigerian Senators Forum mourns Balat

The Nigerian Senators Forum including both serving and past senators has described the death of former special adviser special duties to Vice President Namadi Sambo Sen. Isaiah Balat as a rude shock.
Balat was one of its members having served between 2003 and 2007.

Secretary of the Forum, Sen. Abubakar Girei, in a statement in Kaduna, described the late Balat as “a humble man” who contributed in no small measure to the development of the country in the various capacities he served, including his penultimate position before his death.

He said Balat died when his wealth of experience was most required, “particularly as the nation approaches election year.”
The statement said: “The Nigerian Senators Forum receives as a rude shock the news of the death of one of our member, Senator Isaiah Balat, he was a complete gentle and humble man dedicated to the service of the country.
“We will greatly miss him; his death is a great loss to us, his family, Kaduna state and the country at large.”

The Forum expressed its condolences to Vice President Namadi Sambo, Kaduna state governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, the people of Kaduna state and his family. It also prayed for his soul to rest in peace and for God to give his family and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.
