Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state has expressed confidence in the ability of the new Oba of Benin, Omo N’oba N’edo Uku’ Akpolokpolor Ewuare II, Ambassador  Eheneden Erediuwa, to bring “immeasurable development, peace and progress to the ancient Kingdom.”
While felicitating with the government and people of Edo state on the coronation, Governor Bello said the new Oba’s pedigree in the act of governance and administration, positivistic approach to societal issues and his sense of justice and fairness apparently gives him the chance to succeed in his new assignment.
In a statement  by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Governor congratulated the 40th Oba of Benin and charged him to “relentlessly spearhead, promote and defend, not only the cultural values of the Benin people, but also the peace, progress, unity and development of the country.”
Bello, who eulogised the late Oba of Benin, urged him to carry his subjects along and ensure that the legacies left behind by his ancestors not only actualised, but also surpassed for the overall development of the Kingdom.
He enjoined the monarch to work closely with government and other traditional rulers across the state and beyond to “foster peace, harmony and socio-economic development in the country,” stressing that the role traditional institution “in this direction can never be undermined.”
Bello acknowledged the enormous task ahead of the new Oba, and prayed God to grant him the wisdom, good health and the long life needed to preside and succeed.
