NDLEA warns on drug abuse, urges parents to caution children, wards during Easter celebrations

The Lagos State Strategic Commander of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), CN Abubakar Liman Wali, has warned against drug abuse during Easter celebration in Lagos.

He also advised parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against illicit substances during and after the Easter celebration across the state.

This was contained in a statement released Friday through the Assistant Commander Media and Advocacy, NDLEA Lagos State Strategic Command, ACN Mallum Musa.

“It is during festivals like this that youth mostly get involved in partying, drinking and eating all kinds of food mixed with illicit drugs by the unscrupulous elements amongst them”, he stated.

He also encouraged the general public to assist the NDLEA with credible information about the activities of drug peddlers, dealers and barons in their localities, assuring that such information would be treated with utmost confidentiality.

He further stated that people should use the slogan “if you see something, say something” as an anti-drug campaign to promote a drug-free society.
