NDLEA arrests 16 drugs suspects in Jigawa APC office

The Deputy Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Jigawa state command, Mr Oko Michael, has said 16 persons suspected of consumption of hard drugs were arrested at the All Progressive Congress (APC) office.

Addressing reporters Monday in Dutse, Jigawa state capital, Michael said the 16 suspects comprises of 15 males and one female were arrested after a tip up and directive by the state Governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to clear the premises of the party of such miscreants.

He said the suspects were arrested at the premises and inside the APC’s state secretariat over the weekend, adding that three of the suspects will be taken to the court today (Tuesday) to serve as a deterrent to others.

Adding that among those to be taken to the court include the female who own a Kiosk at the premises of the APC secretariat where a large number of wraths of the substance were found in her possession.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of APC, Malam Nasiru Dahiru Jahun, denied that those arrested were members, adding that they are just party supporters.

He added that the party was in full support of the arrest.
