National Library bids some members of staff farewell

Recently, the National Library of Nigeria bided some retiring members of staff, farewell as they have attained the mandatory retirement age.
The colorful send off event which was organized by an in-house organization tagged Friends of Friends, brought together distinguished members of staff of the Library including its chief executive officer, Malan Habib Jato, who was represented by the director collection, Development and processing department, Hajia Shuaibu Binta, and the retiring staff with their family members in attendance.

In his speech at the occasion the chief executive officer of the national Library of Nigeria, commended the retiring staff, for their contributions to the growth and the development of the library and urged them to continue to remain relevant even in their retirement especially whenever their counseling is needed.

He said that the decision by the management of the organization to allow the event to hold in the premises of the agency is in recognition of the important roles those retiring have played to ensure that the library gained a sure footing and continued to persevere.

Also speaking at the occasion, the chairman of Friends of Friends international, and Chief library officer, Mr Godwin Okechukwu Okafor, described his retiring colleagues, as men and women that have recorded landmark achievements:

‘’ Today after have putting in several years of service, it is important we say goodbye. We are organizing this interaction as an avenue of interacting with retiring officers ‘’ he said.
The retirees include Mr C.B Nwosu, director CPD,Mr Okologbu D.O,Chief Library officer, Mrs Clementina Augustine, Chief secretarial Assistant,Chinyere Esther Nwokocha,Chief secretary Assistant,Ukaiwe Mba Kalu, Chief library officer and Okpara Florenc,Chief Secretarial Assistant.
