NATCOM congratulates Tinubu over Supreme Court victory

The leadership of the National Commission for the Cordination and Control of the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NATCOM) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his Supreme Court victory.

The acting Director General (DG) of NATCOM, Otunba Dr Adejare Rewane Adegbenro, in a congratulatory message said the apex judgement has restored hope to the Nigeria’s democracy and Nigerians.

“I want to use this channel to congratulate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the affirmation of his mandate by Nigerians at the Supreme Court. It is indeed a victory for democracy,” he said.

He commended the judiciary for remaining the bastion of people’s democracy, adding that the apex’ court judgement will further deepen democratic tenets in Nigeria.

He said with the apex court affirmation of Tinubu’ mandate, the coast was finally clear for the new administration to settle down and focus on effecting its promises to Nigerians.

The NATCOM boss recalled that the Supreme Court had Thursday dismissed the appeals filed by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and the Labour Party and their presidential candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively.

Adegbenro pledged his agency’s commitment to president Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda, stressing that the support was necessary to address insecurity and the socio-economic issues the country is currently grappling with.

The agency expressed optimism in the ability of the new administration to deliver the dividends of democracy optimally to Nigerians.

The acting DG also used the opportunity to solicit ascent to the NATCOM bill currently before the president.
