Lawmaker charges youth to prioritise future, congratulate Bello at 48

The lawmaker representing Ajaokuta federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulrahim (SEA), has charged Kogi youth to take their destiny into their hands by dreaming high and pursuing the dreams with all the vigor it deserves.

Abdulrahim a retired parmanent secretary gave the charge in Lokoja on Sunday during the occasion of first Kogi Youth Leadership Day / celebration of the 48th birthday of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, organized by Kogi Youth Ambassadors in collaboration with Hon. SEA Vanguard for Ododo 2023.

The lawmaker who described youth as a catalyst of the nation’s economy, urged them to be up and doing at all time in order to have brighter future.

“The youth are no longer the leader of tomorrow, but the youth of today. I am urging the youth to design the way they want to live their life that will profit them and their parents.

“The purpose of this occasion is to identify with our leader , our mentor and the governor of Kogi state Alhaji Yahaya Bello who has done a lot for the state in terms of youth and women empowernment , infrastructure development and provision basic social amenities to the people of the state” he said.

Speaking further on the achievements of governor Bello as he clocked 48 years, the lawmaker said that the governor’s visionary projects and policies have uplifted many communities through the provision of quality roads, improved healthcare facilities, rural electrication, provision of farming incentives and quality education among others.

“Through his tireless efforts, he has laid a solid foundation for sustainable development and progress. The most profound impact of Governor Yahaya Bello’s leadership lies in his ability to inspire and elevate the youth of our great nation.

“Today, we pay tribute to a man who has not only transformed our state but has also inspired a generation of young leaders who are now rising to prominence” he stated.

In his welcome address, the state coordinator SEA Vanguard for Ododo / Oyibo 2023 , Mr Oyibo Casmir, said that the aim of the gathering was to celebrate the 48 years of the governor who has done a lot to move the state to enviable height.

He pointed out that the two groups would soon inaugurate a committee that would send a bill to the state house of assembly to pass a law that would make 18th June every year as youth leadership day in Kogi state.
