Kwara: Man hired by cow dealer robs him of N600, 000 

Police operatives in Kwara state have arrested a gang of armed robbers who attacked and robbed a cow dealer, Alhaji Yahaya Ishaku in Oro-Ago of N600, 000.00, being the proceeds from the sales of his cows.

They gave the names of the victims as Bello Baneri , Umaru Shehu, Awalu Umaru and Mamman Muhammed all of Fulani camp, Oro-Ago. 

Ishaku according to police was hit on the head while riding on a motorcycle and dispossessed him of his proceeds of N600,000 while returning  from Kara market in Ajase Ipo where he sold the cows on Saturday. 

Ishaku’s attack, according to a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer Okasanmi Ajayi, was orchestrated by one Mamman Muhammed, a man whom the victim  had hired to help load the cows into a vehicle for sale in Kara market, Ajase- Ipo.

Muhammed according to the police invited his otber accomplices, namely, Bello Baneri , Umaru Shehu and Awalu Umaru  all of Fulani camp, Oro-Ago, who waylaid him  while returning from Kara market.

The statement reads: “At about 1500hrs of 22/8/2022, a team of policemen and members of Miyetti Allah of Oro-Ago in a combined operation, went in search of a gang of armed robbers, whose stock-in-trade was mainly robbing unsuspecting citizens  in the area of their money and goods on market days.

“The operation became necessary after intelligence compass pointed to the fact that the perpetrators were hibernating in the Fulani camp, Oro-Ago.”
