Kogi Poly gets TETfund’s N450m for agric development

The Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic , Lokoja, Alhaji Isah Muhammed, has disclosed that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund), has released N450 million for the establishment of School of Agriculture at  Osara campus.

Muhammed who disclose this during the   matriculation of  3,110 new students of the polytechnic, commended TETfund for its various interventions in the  developmental strides of the institution,  adding that these could be physically seen everywhere on the campuses.
He posited that many projects had been completed while many others are still ongoing.
He, however, warned the new students against constituting themselves into a body that “terrorizes, harasses or intimidates other law abiding students, adding that if caught, the institution’s authority would not hesitate to “seriously deal with such student”.
“Anyone caught in such despicable acts will be summarily expelled because the Polytechnic has zero tolerance for indiscipline, by extension, examination malpractice, drug addiction, fighting, theft, indecent dressing and above all, cultism will be met with the most severe punishment”.

Muhammed said students would be expected “to take their rightful places in nation building, social emancipation and national development and to contribute their quota in scientific investigation through positive and articulate academic programmes”.
He emphasised that the management of the institution and the state government have provided various facilities on the campuses for their benefits.
He used the occasion to commend the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his fatherly support and the interest he has consistently shown in the affairs of the institution and also the continued positive support and contributions of the state Ministry of Education.
Muhammed further paid glowing tribute to the former registrar of the institution, late Alhaji Salihu Usman Okatahi, who passed on recently after a brief illness.
