Kogi state government has declared its readiness to partner with the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) scheme to drive the change mantra of the present administration.
Governor Yahaya Bello, who disclosed this at the close of a 21-day orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Asaya, Kabba-Bunu local government area of the state, charged the corps members to actively impact on their prospective host communities through the Community Development Services (CDS).

The governor, who represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Arome Adoji, said his administration placed high premium on the youth development.
“I charge you to use the various NYSC Community Development Services platforms at the grassroots to carry out public enlightenment and mobilisation for change in behaviour, thinking, cultural orientation and outlook,” he said.

While urging corps members to distinguish themselves in their various places of primary assignment, Bello assured them of state’s Merit Award to deserving corps members at the end of service year.
Earlier, the state’s NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Olabanji Bolanle, urged the corps members to adhere to the tenets of the Scheme in their prospective host communities.
She, however, cautioned them against abandoning their place of assignment, saying whoever indulged in such act would be made to face the full wrath of the scheme.
