Worried by the state of the nation and the spectre of insecurity permeating it, the Kano state House of Assembly has endorsed Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso to run for president.
In a Press statement in Kano, the Deputy Minority leader of the House, Yusuf Babangida Suleiman, said 34 out of the 40 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the house argued that, the dismal state of the nation was a course for concern to every well meaning citizen who cared for the well being of the country.
They said it was their belief that resetting Nigeria to restore its former position as a united entity with diverse ethnic and religious affiliations could only be effected if a credible leader like Kwankwaso was voted to power.
“It is on this note that 34 of us hereby propose that our leader and mentor, Dr Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, should be endorsed for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“All the 34 members believe that Kwankwaso is the type who sleeps with his eyes open mulling the mess plaguing the nation.”
It was the contention of the legislators that the nation was like a sinking ship which required capable captain to bail it out, stressing that citizens of the country were in dire need of a lasting succour.
“We, therefore, consider this laudable aspiration as an expression of the will of progressive minds who were concerned about the dilapidation of Nigeria in all sectors of human endeavour.”
