The commissioning of K-Medics Diagnostics Center will reduce medical trips abroad by Nigerians from the North, as it will provide special services, including fully automated laboratory, its Medical Director, Dr. Ndukuba Nwachukwu, has said.

Speaking at the commissioning of the first phase of K-Medics Diagnostics, Dr. Nwachukwu said the new diagnostic center will provide specialised services such as coloured and live ultrasound for pregnant women to see picture of the baby in their womb.

“Many Nigerians go to India for checkup but we can do as good as they are doing here. We have what it takes, we have the brains, the machines, the people and the population. All of us here, we need to carry out checkup to know our status either you are doing well or not. Our services include echocardiography, ultrasound coloured and life to give pregnant women a picture of their baby, biothesiometry to check diabetes complications, preventive method to catch a disease before it spreads.

“We also have fully automated laboratory to avoid human error and give instant result, histology for cancer and digital mammography. Molecular laboratory with DNA test, a research laboratory where people can come in do all sorts of research and get knowledge. There would be phase 2 at the back of this buildings, when completed, we would provide services such as 1.5 Tesla MRI scan, 64 slide CT scan, endoscopy for upper and lower GI tract, cardiology suite and preventive echo. We intend to raise diagnostics to the highest possible level in Northern Nigeria.”
