JOHESU honours Gaidam with health reformer award

The Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), Yobe state chapter, has said as major stakeholders in the state health sector, the union is at a vantage position to tell story of the genuine restructuring that has taken place in the state health sector.
This was disclosed yesterday by Comrade Abdul’aziz Usman, Chairman of JOHESU, Yobe state while conferring a merit award on Governor Ibrahim Gaidam for his outstanding performance as the health sector reformer in Yobe state.
“With the coming of Ibrahim Gaidam, much has been done to revamp and reform the health sector.
The journey was indeed rough and tough, but the good results are visible and palpable for everyone to see”.
Responding, Governor Gaidam assured the citizens that his administration will continue to invest massively in the health sector and accord it special attention with a view to achieving overall objectives.
While appreciating the gesture, Gaidam further called on the workers to put in their best to ensure the maximum application and utilization of available facilities, stressing the need to work according to the ethics of their professions and code of conduct.
“Let me stress that negligence and irresponsibility, poor and unacceptable attitude at point of duty will not be condoned.
Anyone found violating the laid down rules and regulations will be sanctioned with the provisions of the laws governing conduct and the state civil service” “Let me take the opportunity provided to reiterate my appeal to all health professional bodies, unions and indeed all workers in our health establishment and facilities to reciprocate the good gesture of our administration”.
It would be recalled that the governor had earned similar awards by the Nigerian Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics, the Nigeria Medical Association, Yobe state and its national body and AlAhfad University for Women in the Republic of Sudan.
