Jigawa takes specimen of 600 almajiris for analysis at NCDC

Jigawa state government Thursday said it has taken blood sample of 600 almajirais repatriated from other states of the federation with a view to ascertain their health status.

Governor Muahmmad Badaru Abubaakr said the state wants to know whether they are positive or negative to coronavirus.

Speaking at Government House, Dutse, Wednesday evening while giving up date on COVIDE-19, he said over 1100  almajirais who were indigents of the state were repatriated from neighboring, Kano, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Gombe states.

He said over 600 almajirai were returned to Jigawa state from Kano, 397 from Nasarawa, 67 from Gobe and 42 from Kaduna state.

Governor Badaru Abubakar  stated that the rationale  behind  taking sample and taking them to NCDC  for test was to avoid what happened in Kaduna where over 60 almajiris who were repatriated tested positive of COVID 19.

He said  all of them were camped at the General Yakubu Gowon NYSC Orientation Camp located at panisau, in the state capital.

“We took samples of the remaining ones at the camp to know their health status before we hand them over to their parents while those found negative, would be kept in isolation centers  for treatment,’’ Badaru said.

Badaru stated that  his government will not repatriate any
almajiri  in order to abide by the teachings of the Holly Prophet when he said,  ‘’None  of you shall live or travel out from city , town or village,if there is epidemic or pandemic and vice versa.’’ He added that his government has donated food stuffs to Tsangaya schools in Kazaure and Gumel.
