Jigawa recruits 8,446 N-Power beneficiaries

The Jigawa state office of the N-Power programme has posted the second batch of 8,446 beneficiaries to places of their assignment as directed by the federal government.
The state coordinator of the programme, Mallam Bala Usman Chamo, made this known in a phone chat with our correspondent.
He said the beneficiaries were being employed as teachers, health personnel and extension workers.
Usman Chamo stated that the beneficiaries would commence work from August 1st and enjoy their monthly allowance of N30, 000 at the end of every month.
He said Hadejia local government area has the highest number of 611 beneficiaries followed by Dutse while Gwiwa local government has the least number of the beneficiaries.
On the conditional cash transfer programme, the coordinator said over 37,000 less privileged received stipends of N5, 000 monthly in nine local government areas of the state.
On school feeding program me, the coordinator said the programme had encountered hitches following the non release of fund by the federal government.
He announced that the state government paid over N65 million to SIP account to complement the feeding programme of both federal and state governments, adding that immediately the federal government releases the fund, the cooks would be paid.
