Jigawa has eradicated polio – Badaru

Governor Mohammad Badaru Abubakar has said that his administration was doing everything possible to assist and improve agriculture in Jigawa state as the main economic which had over 7o per cent of the people depending on it.

Badaru, who disclosed this in Dutse, the state capital, on the occasion to mark the 20th anniversary of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Mohammdu Sanusi, at the weekend, said the state had succeeded in eradicating polio.
He also called on parents to always take the education of their children serious in order to mold their minds into proper shapes that would be of great use to the parents themselves and other people as well.

In his remarks, the emir advised husbands to take good care their wives, children and wards, saying that “such action is necessary at this time considering the fact that children are the future leaders.”
He further urged people within his Emirate to be trustworthy in all their endeavours and undertakings “so that the benefits of neigbourhood can be achieved.”
The emir called on the people in the emirate to assist government by maintaining peace in their communities, and thanked the state government and other emirs who graced the occasion.
