Jigawa gov appoints 8 perm secs

In order to ensure effective and efficient service delivery, Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakr, has approved the appointment of eight permanent secretaries in the state civil service and posted them to the various ministries.

A Government House press statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Badaru Abubakar, Mr. Auwalu Danladi Sankara said the appointment was to fill in the existing vacancies in the state civil service.
The statement disclosed that the their appointment was based on merit, track record of service, competency, hard work and dedication to duty.


It added that the list of the successful directors elevated to permanent secretaries was as follows: Hajiya Safiya I. Muhammad, Abdullahi Hassan, Lawan Muhammad Bello and Hajiya Uwani Jafar.
Others according to the statement are: Dr. Rabiu Miko, Abdullahi A. Mato, Nura Haruna and Dr. Haruna Usman. The statement said all the appointment take immediate effect.

Our correspondent who spoke to some stakeholders from one of the emirates which falls within the go-political zone of Governor Badaru, complained that the appointment did not take into consideration federal character principle.

They added that this would be the third time such kind of appointment was being made despite the fact that they were fully qualified directors from their zones. They described the scenario as a form of marginalisation.
