I’m willing to play in NPFL again – Ighalo

Former Manchester United striker and Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo has revealed he is open to returning to the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL), following in the footsteps of compatriots like Ahmed Musa and Brown Ideye.

Ighalo in an interview expressed his willingness to play in Nigeria again, while acknowledging the challenges involved after spending nearly two decades abroad.

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) top scorer admitted that transitioning back to the domestic league would not be easy, but remains hopeful—provided the right environment is created.

The NPFL has recently featured top Super Eagles stars, including Ahmed Musa with Kano Pillars and Brown Ideye, who played for Enyimba International.

It would be recalled that Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi also expressed desire to play in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
